Many children with executive functioning challenges struggle to understand the specific expectations involved in one task. "Clean Your Room" may mean "make sure there isn't anything visible on the floor" to your child and so they shove it all under the bed, which is not likely what you intended. Or maybe they have trouble just remembering all the expectations. Having a visual that guides them through different steps can be very helpful in supporting success!
